Featuring an injection-molded backstay, the Contra is the stiffest boot in Vans' line. The new Boa Coiler reel assures no slack in the cables. It micro-adjusts as you move for a consistent, reliable fit. The updated Quadfit liner features dual-density EVA padding, heel-holding Achilles pads, and breathable wicking mesh. Antimocrobial footbeds provide protection against odor-causing bacteria. Vans' V-Tread Snowaffle Air Outsole increases sensitivity with better sole-edge traction. The compression-molded EVA midsoles feature forefoot gel pads for lightweight cushioning and zone-specific shock absorption. Dual heel gel-pads enhance stability and disperse impact, while a full-wrap heel cradle provides excellent support and response. The Contra comes equipped with a Recco reflector that could help rescuers locate you in event of an avalanche.
